The Friday Edit: Ed. 9
Things I’ve been reading, eyeing, and saving this week.
This week feels like a bit of a turning point. Happy First Day of Spring!!
The days are getting longer, there’s finally a hint of warmth in the air, and spring travel is no longer something off in the distance. It’s here. Which also means one thing I hear over and over again this time of year starts to come up: what do I actually pack?
So I’m really excited to share that all of my Spring Style + Packing Guides are now available.
Each guide is designed to take the guesswork out of packing. In the past, I focused on what to bring and how to style individual outfits. This year, I approached things differently. Along with a breakdown of what to pack (and how much) as well as the pieces I would recommend, I built fully styled suitcases.
Each one is a cohesive capsule that shows you exactly how pieces work together in real life. Not just what to pack, but how to wear it across actual days, in actual places.
There are now guides for:
Each one reflects how differently these trips behave, because packing for Paris is not the same as packing for the coast, and neither is the same as a broader Europe itinerary.
The goal is simple. To help you pack fewer things, wear everything you bring, and feel completely at ease when you arrive.
If you have a spring trip coming up, this is exactly what I built these for.
What I’m Reading This Week
A mix of travel, style, and a few pieces that feel especially relevant right now. I’ve been thinking a lot about ease lately. How we move through our days, how we get dressed, and how we travel. These all felt aligned with that.
“Low-energy dressing”: here’s how making less of an effort could actually boost your mental health
This piece really resonated with me. It explores the idea that getting dressed doesn’t have to be an event or a performance. There is something grounding about having a few things you know work and reaching for them without overthinking. It’s very much how I think about both everyday style and packing. Fewer decisions, better outcomes. Read the article here.
How to Sleep on a Plane — Even if You’re in the Middle Seat
There is nothing glamorous about a middle seat on a long flight, but this is actually a very practical guide to making it more manageable. From small adjustments to what you bring, to how you position yourself, it’s a good reminder that comfort while traveling is often about preparation, not luck. Read the article here.
The Best Time to Book Flights for Spring and Summer Travel
This is a helpful, timely look at when to book flights for upcoming travel. The window for getting good prices is starting to narrow, especially for Europe, and it’s a good reminder that waiting rarely pays off this time of year. If you’re thinking about a spring or early summer trip, it’s worth a read before you book. Read the article here.
12 Spring Holidays Traveller Editors Swear By
This is the kind of list that makes you want to open a new tab and start planning immediately. It’s a thoughtful mix of destinations that work especially well in the spring, when crowds are lighter and the pace feels a bit more relaxed. A good reminder that where you go this time of year can shape the entire experience. Read the article here.
Things I’m Eyeing
I’ve been doing a bit of browsing this week and there are so many good pieces right now.
This raffia tote from Tuckernuck immediately caught my eye. It has those beautiful leather details that make it feel elevated rather than overly beachy. The kind of bag that works just as well in the city as it does on vacation.
I’ve also been updating my Shoes and Bags collections on ShopMy, and there are so many strong options this season. If you’re looking to refresh anything for spring, it’s a good place to browse.
J.Crew is having a moment. The relaxed cashmere tee has my name all over it. I love all the colors, but the fresh apricot feels especially right for spring. I also keep coming back to this vintage-inspired wool cardigan. The western details make it feel a bit more special than your standard layer. And this crochet short sleeve cardigan strikes that perfect balance of on-trend and timeless. I love it in navy stripe, white, and the bright pink.
I’ve also been loyal to their rollneck cotton sweaters for years, and now I’m tempted to add a fresh color to my spring closet. I am also moments away from ordering the cashmere version and in the pale blue.
With a bit of warmer weather creeping in, I just replenished all of our sunscreen. The Unseen Sunscreen is the only one my five-year-old will consistently let me put on his face and neck. For body, I like the Play Sunscreen, and for myself, I love the Mineral Glowscreen.
Because spring is so unpredictable, I’ve also been thinking about easy, throw-on jackets for everyday life. The kind you grab for errands, school drop-offs, and time at the park without having to think twice. Here, here, and here are three I like.
On the travel front, I’ve been using my Quince carry-on suitcase and compression packing cubes, and I’ve been really impressed. The suitcase checks all of my boxes. Smooth wheels, a handle that actually works well, a built-in lock, and the option to expand if needed. The packing cubes come in a set of six, and these are the first compression cubes I’ve tried. I love the variety of sizes and that you can zip them down when you need a little extra space. Use this code for 10% off (for new customers): INFG-26STYLEPACKGO10
And finally, I’ve been on the fence about the jelly flats/mules trend, but I think I’m officially in. They feel playful in a way that’s fun for spring and summer. Here, here, and here are the three I’m going to try.
Until next Friday,
x
Moira
